Hi All! I recently bought a 2014 C-Max Energi. I charge my C-Max using a 240V charger (Brand: MAX GREEN) at my home. After driving my car to work and back, I get home with about 1 mile of range left. I plug in my car and after about 2-3 hours it will have around 18 miles of range.

A flat car battery can take around 10 to 24 hours to charge fully. But this battery charging time depends on the battery type and mode of charging. Here are a few interesting case studies for different battery types: It takes 12 hours to recharge a 48,000 mAh (48 amp) car battery using a 12 volt battery charger.

There may be advantages to using a deep cycle battery in the C-Max. Having jumped my car when the battery had been dead, I do believe the car is started with the HVB. (Though this implies that if the HVB is dead, the car will not start. But will charging the 12V battery charge the HVB ? ) (By the way, it is around 30 lbs.)
In general, hybrids are most efficient in the city, since stop-and-go driving uses the regenerative braking system more frequently to help charge the battery. Ford C-MAX Energi Plug-in Hybrid is

Ford C-MAX Energi has the most range of any utility or compact vehicle by achieving an EPA-rated 620-mile range on a single tank and a single charge, taking customers 80 miles further than the Toyota Prius plug-in. C-MAX Energi achieves up to 21 miles in all-electric range – more than triple the Prius plug-in hybrid’s six-mile all-electric IAqILul.
